Skakke Folkedrakter

Mange mennesker har et forhold til bunader, kofter og folkedrakter. Disse tradisjonelle plaggene kan skape sterke følelser av tilhørighet og stolthet, men også av fremmedgjøring, skam og sinne.

I Nasjonalmuseets vandreutstilling ‘Skakke folkedrakter’ ble seks samtidskunstnere invitert til å utforske og stille spørsmål ved skikker, identitet og håndverkstradisjoner knyttet til drakt.

Hacienda fulgte denne prosessen, og resultatet ble 6 kunstnerportretter og en kort dokumentar. Kunstnerportrettene blir vist på en spesialbygget videostasjon i sammen med vandreutstillingen, og dokumenatren har blandt annet blitt vist på Nordic Docs (2024).

I tillegg produserte Hacienda korte videoer til sosiale medier. Utstillingen reiser rundt i Norge i perioden 2023 – 2025.

Many people have a relationship with national costumes, kilts and folk costumes. These traditional clothes can create strong feelings of belonging and pride, but also of alienation, shame and anger.

In the Norwegian National Museum’s travelling exhibition ‘Skakke folkedrakter’, six contemporary artists were invited to explore and question the traditional customs, identity and craftsmanship associated with costume.

Hacienda followed this process and the result was 6 artist portraits and a short documentary. The artist portraits are shown on a purpose-built video station alongside the travelling exhibition, and the documentary has been shown at Nordic Docs (2024).

In addition, Hacienda produced short videos for social media. The exhibition is travelling around Norway in the period 2023 – 2025.
