12. februar 1994 er verdens øyne var rettet mot Lillehammer og åpningsseremonien for vinter-OL. Samtidig smeller det i Oslo. En stige er satt opp utenfor Nasjonalgalleriet, og en rute er knust. Katastrofen er et faktum. Nasjonalskatten «Skrik» er stjålet!
